From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of heroes who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group features Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look out of place, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to go next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his own means, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to kill the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could enable the group reach places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them few options but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Schemers tables.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be where in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
